comicbookmen: BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS - By Frank Miller The comic that sparked a beautiful friendship.  As recounted by Kevin Smith, he and Walt Flanagan became fast friends after Walt learned of Smith’s love of a school report Smith did on the Batman TV series, prompting him to lend Kevin Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, and thus creating a life long comics fan.
